Designs concrete foundations for steel pipe racks, vertical/horizontal vessels, open frame structures, and guyed flares
Designs steel/concrete frames for pipe racks: Braced and Rigid
Uses Computer analysis for framed structures and indeterminate beams
Surveys of existing petrochemical facilities
Designs concrete pipe supports
Familiar to API, ACI, and AISC codes
Reviews contractors shop drawings, RFIs, Material Approval Requisitions, Design Changes Requests, and NCRs
Coordinates between different disciplines, vendors, and contractors.
Directs and supervises CAD operators
Reviews project specifications, administrative and technical practices, design instructions, plot plan and supplier information.
Inputs into the development of Project Civil/Structural Engineering CTRs for review with Chief Engineer.
Performs manual/computer layouts in accordance with Civil/Structural specifications, standard drawings, design instructions, plot plan and supplier information.
Communicates and interfaces with other project design and engineering disciplines.
Completes and revises manual/computer drawings
Checks, back checks, and correct manual/computer drawings.
Reviews and comments on other departments' design drawings and supplier equipment drawings.
Updates project master drawings.
Reports Document and Activity progress.
On assignment to the field, supports construction in drawing and specification interpretations and design modifications. Also assists in carrying out site surveys, measurements, acts of acceptance, and other site engineering activities.
Assists and guides Engineers in level 2 / Designers gain needed experience.
