A requirement for a multi functional Civil Construction Planner / Site Coordinator has arisen within the Our Clients Process Business unit of Power and Process UK and Europe Division. The project is based on the Isle of Skye in the Highlands of Scotland where you will be required to join the small site based team. The project is working Monday Friday 44 hours with a potential of Saturday Morning.

The project is a Wind Farm and the scope pre-dominantly includes Civils (road, bases, plinths, service buildings), Wind Turbine erection and Electrical Infrastructure

You will be accountable to the Site Project Manager and be responsible for the following:-
From the scope of supply and project deliverables develop a work breakdown structure that is consistent with the needs of Amec (both client and developer), the project, construction and commissioning activities in line with the planning restrictions and current consent levels in a remote, sensitive environmental area with wildlife and archaeological restrictions
Development of Engineering, construction and commissioning Bar chart schedules, S curves and Histograms
Progress monitoring and reporting of planned, earned, forecast and expended values
Attendance at site and head office meetings including progress reviews
Establish the work content, duration, interconnectivity and interface of dependant activities relating to sub-contractors, procurement deliveries, planning consent and other Scottish Authority representative groups to enable a workable construction programme
The planning engineer will be responsible for co-ordinating with subcontractors and suppliers to develop an integrated fully co-ordinated construction and commissioning program. This will be used as the basis for progress reporting, scheduling, forecasting and controlling of the projects performance
Developing a logical sequence for construction taking cognisance of all related project activities and restraints whilst ensuring safe and practical levels of working
Establishment of critical path activities and the float available to the project teams
To establish deviations from the plan - actual v planned and assist in identifying the impact and recovery plan when necessary
To evaluate the impact of change / variation to the project scope
Interrogation of the project plan to understand the site activities including scope, milestones, logic and critical path in line with the constraints
Drive the daily works as required to meet the programme
Deputise in absence of Site Project Manager
Ensure SHE standards are properly communicated, understood and maintained
Prepare daily log / report
Complete SHE tours
Ensure housekeeping standards are maintained
Provide technical guidance (TQ Response) in civil construction related areas (technical expertise is available from head office)
Ensure all work completed in accordance with MS / RA including review of such documents
Ensure the work force have the right information and resources to proceed safely and efficiently
Ensure short and long term priorities are delivered
Highlight and report potential IR or PR issues
Attend morning co-ordination meetings
Initiate Punch Listing upon completion of the works

Skills/Knowledge/Experience
The successful candidate should posses the following skills:
Safety Passport or similar
IOSHH or NEBOSH certificate Advantage
Construction Planning
Construction Site Coordination
Substantial site construction experience
Activity Interface Planning
Have excellent Numeracy and Literacy
Experience using Primavera and or Microsoft Project
Excellent IT skills
Preferably civil background with working knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical installations
Working knowledge of planning methodology
Ability to self manage with attention to detail
Ability to work with a multi functional ability in a site based small team environment
Computer literate
