Our client is providing ongoing services to a number of major programmes across the defence, clean-up and decommissioning sectors within the nuclear industry.
Their Warrington based design team is responsible for the delivery of work packages to Atkins' project teams based in the North West, Berkshire, the South East and the South West.
An opportunity exists for a Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our Decommissioning and Clean-up business based in Warrington.
You will be required to take responsibility for delivering engineering solutions to a range of projects whilst demonstrating a high level of technical competence.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Ensuring that all mechanical work is delivered to the relevant standards and to the satisfaction of the client
Co-ordinating the technical aspect of design and systems interfaces
Liaising with all stakeholders
Developing design plans
Leading and directing design teams
The role will also include:
Methods and build ability studies, workmanship and materials issues
In-house research and technical alerts
Work at client sites

Requirements

Chartered Mechanical Engineer
Previous experience of leading teams of multi discipline engineering teams
Nuclear experience is preferred, but not essential
Experience of working in a design office environment would be beneficial

Essential

Due to the nature of work undertaken at our clients' site offices, candidates will neet to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance and should therefore be willing to undergo a security vetting process
