Our client based in Derbyshire are part of global Energy & Environmental Group and provides engineered boiler solutions, including low NOx burners, biomass co-firing, boiler control systems and plant upgrades, for utility and industrial boilers

With many years experience in the provision of engineering solutions to a worldwide customer base, we are seeking to further expand our Boiler Retrofits, UK business in Derby. We are now looking for an experienced Materials Handling Systems Engineer with an extensive background in the design, selection and operation of material off loading, conveying and storage systems for solid fuels.

Working as part of a multi-disciplined team of engineers and predominantly based in Derby, the successful candidate will:-

Have a thorough knowledge of materials handling systems for solid fuels including Biomass.
Have a good knowledge of the control philosophy.
Be familiar with fuel processing equipment, eg drying, screening and crushers.
Have a good understanding of installation and operational issues.
Be a professional engineer, educated to degree level or equivalent.
Be familiar with DSEAR and ATEX equipment Directives.
Preferably (but not essentially) have at least 10 years experience in a materials handling environment.
Be a hands-on engineer capable of developing bespoke handling and processing solutions to clients specific requirements.
Preferably have a clean driving licence as some travel in the UK and overseas will be required.
Have good written and verbal communication skills.
Be able to work unsupervised and also make a major contribution to the success of the project teams.

The post will be based in the offices in Derby, although as the Company's work involves projects in the UK and overseas. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake site visits both in the UK and overseas in order to gather further information relevant to their design activities.
