The role will be based in my client's Derby office with approx.50% travel as dictated by client's & project demands, the travel will be UK wide of which there will be times when you will need to work away from home. Software design & development on small to large sized dev. projects. This position is within a busy MS dev. practice dev. both highly bespoke Internet applications & applications utilising MS Windows SharePoint Services & MS Office SharePoint Server. Dev. & delivery of software applications utilising .Net & SharePoint. Provide input into the design of sys. components & Information Architecture. Understand the business req's of an application to ensure that any dev. or maintenance meets the customers business req's & the agreed design. Provide guidance & mentoring to more junior members of the team. Be able to understand, learn & use recognised frameworks, design patterns, tools & stds. Input into impact assessments for Requests For Change & provide estimates for dev. & delivery. Have an in-depth understanding of the full dev.lifecyle. Work alongside other teams in the provision of a single seamless application service to the customer.Produce & have a mature approach to doc. & distribution of knowledge. Ensure that quality control & quality assurance procedures are performed in accordance with dev. stds. Provide MS Products & Technologies techn. expertise to both internal & external client projects. Awareness on N-Tier sys. & ability to recommend COTS products to provide cost effective solutions.Essential:- Expert knowledge & real-world exp. of building web content managed sites with MOSS. Dev. & implementation of intranet, extranets & portals using MOSS. Customisation of MOSS & WSS, incl. the design & dev.of web parts. Implementation & customisation of the MOSS Search Engine. Extensive dev.exp. using ASP, ASP.net , VB.net or C#. Exp. of web dev. (HTML, Java Script, XML, CSS Ajax). Relational databases & SQL, specifically SQL Server. Excellent written & verbal communication (English). Desirable
Implementation of taxonomy & ontology products.
Computer Science Degree or Higher Level qualification. MCP or MCTS in relevant subject areas.
