Our clients are a large rail organisation, are looking to recruit a Senior Construction Manager at their offices in Reading. The Senior Construction Manager will undertake construction management on major projects in terms of safety, environment, quality, specification, standards compliance, programme, change control and functionality. This will involve the direct management of the works package contractors and overall management of the site system integration activity. Typically this will involve the management of 4-6 major contracts on projects generally valued in the range of 100m to 300m.

Essential

Experience of leading a team of multi-discipline site management personnel on a major project
Relevant successful experience in the construction industry, and in a relevant railway engineering discipline or building management as appropriate.
Good understanding of CDM Regulations requirements.
Knowledge of the possession regime and an understanding of track access principles.
Knowledge of safety & environmental strategies, in particular health and safety plans, method statements and risk assessments.
HNC or equivalent qualification in construction or a relevant engineering discipline.
Knowledge of contract forms, quality procedures and Network Rail Safety and Environmental Conditions.

Desirable

Membership or a relevant professional body and/or educated to degree level.
Knowledge of quality control systems.
Understanding of commercial and financial procedures.
