Our client is an Engineering Contractor working in the power industry. They are currently looking to recruit a Commissioning Chemical Engineer on a staff basis to work on projects all over the World. Due to continued success in the overseas market the client would expect applicants to have full mobility for site based work, although the official office base is in Cheshire.

The successful applicant will be responsible for the planning and/or preparation and execution of the commissioning, trial run, acceptance testing and inspection/measurements within his/her scope of work as defined by the Lead Commissioning Engineer.

Specific responsibilities include:
The personnel assigned to him/her are fully acquainted with the site-specific rules, safety regulations and environmental protection measures and that they perform their work accordingly.
All available tools and aids are utilised in order to achieve the goals of his/her assignment and, as well, to strive for continuous product improvements and cost reduction..
Commissioning is performed in a safe and timely manner.
All chemicals and other hazardous materials within the company�s scope of supply and responsibility are safely handled and stored in accordance with company EHS guidelines and relevant local legislation.
Prepare for commissioning as specified in the work instructions (MEGA processes).
Manage, perform, coordinate and monitor the commissioning of the specified systems
Organise and supervise the safe operation of the plant (site rules, safety regulations, shift plan, shift log, etc.) from system turnover from erection until PAC.
Facilitate the turnover of systems from erection to commissioning and from commissioning to the customer in accordance with current procedure/work instruction
Perform commissioning according to the specifications and engineering documents, taking into account the safety instructions, environmental protection measures and local regulations.
Hand over the commissioning, quality and feedback documentation and software
(originals) with a document list to the COMM for compiling and release.
Ensure that commercial and technical deviations are reported with a corresponding nonconformance report (NCR) and that the same are followed up until their completion
Organise the return of all commissioning test equipment as soon as possible
Maintain records of all tests and measurements conducted for environmental control, incident or complaint purposes and any actions taken in response to the same.

Applicants should hold a relevant Degree qualification in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, and have significant experience of power station commissioning projects. It is envisaged that significant periods of time will be spent on overseas projects so applicants must hold a full Passport from their Country of origin as well as the right to work unrestricted in the UK.
