A Platform Manager is required to lead a DBA team providing day-to-day ongoing management and strategic direction.

The role will require definition of current and future service offerings to meet the predicted needs of the business, senior stakeholder management, and clarifying demand and ensuring delivery against SLA�s and KPI�s. The ability to provide technical direction is paramount and therefore a thorough grounding in Database Administration is required.

Requires a broad technical education in one or more of IT, Business Management or Engineering involving or equivalent to a first degree.

Must then have significant experience in Database Administration across the whole technology lifecycle, with substantial operational experience.

� Well developed staff management and motivational skills, setting performance standards.
� A broad and in-depth range of experience in providing DBA solutions, particularly Oracle & SQL.
� Expertise in latest techniques and methodologies in delivering quality solutions.
� Expertise in the latest and emerging technologies likely to be employed in designing and delivering Enterprise-wide quality solutions.
� Expertise in implementing and/or architecting infrastructure for critical projects.
� Excellent planning, organisational and analytical skills.
� Skilled at solving and communicating complex problems, applying knowledge and technology to the full.
� Excellent communication skills, oral and in writing, drafting reports and proposals to director level.
